London Weekend Television broadcast on the London Transmitter of the ITV network, from 1968 until 2002 (5.15 pm on Fridays until 5.59 am on Mondays). LWT produced some of the best programmes on the network ranging from drama (like Upstairs, Downstairs; Bouquet of Barbed Wire; Lillie; The Professionals, London’s Burning; Poirot etc), Light Entertainment (like Doctor in the House; The Stanley Baxter Show; Aspel and Friends; Game For A Laugh; It’ll Be Alright On The Night; Play Your Cards Right; Blind Date and so many others too numerous to mention), Arts Programmes (like Aquarius and the Southbank Show), Sports Programmes (like World of Sport; The Big Match; The Cup Final etc) and Factual programmes (like Frost on Friday and Saturday; Weekend World; Black on Black; The Six O’clock Show; The London Programme etc).
